Keeping an Eye on Kingston’s Housing

The borough’s housing will be under a new careful eye, and additionally tenants and leaseholders will have a say in how services are run.
Kingston Council with support and input from Kingston Federation of Residents has dispatched the independent Kingston Residents’ Scrutiny Panel (KriSP). Its task is to investigate different aspects of the housing service of their choosing such as repairs, estate management and anti-social behaviour. The purpose of the new body is to help to improve the quality of these services.

The plan, after circulating for comments recommendations, has been backed by Councillors and will be agreed in the autumn.

The target is to hold the first meeting of KRiSP in November, ready to start planning its work from January 2014, the cleaners in Kingston said.
